China will build the tallest building in the world (838 mts) by the end of March 2013. Yes, three months! The construction company responsible of building a 30 stoy hotel in 15 days will attempt using this new technology to build in an unprececented speed of 5 floors a day in order to complete this task on time. Many think this is a joke but these people are as serious as ever as they already formally announced that they’re starting with the foundations in two weeks. The building has been designed by the same people who built the current record holder in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa. The building is intended for residential use housing a total of 31,400 people. With its latest technology it can resist a 9.0 earthquake and up to three hours of fire. The ost of e building will also be lower than the previous record holder. Sky City, as its being called will cost $1,500 per square meter to build while de Burj Khalifa cost a whooping $15,000. This construction will be set at the city of Changsha City. We’ll see if this is true come March.
