After 10 hard fought rounds, Antonio Margarito wasn’t allowed to continue by advise of the ringside doctor because of a badly damage right eye. The fight turned out as predicted by The Republika, Cotto looking the fresher of the two, and being able to capitalize on the damage started by Manny Pacquiao to Margarito’s eye. We didn’t need to be expert doctors to be able to figure out that Antonio’s eye didn’t look that good at all, and being that The Tijuana Tornado loves to eat punches for breakfast, it didn’t take a very profound analysis to conclude that Cotto would be able to capitalize on this big flaw in Margarito’s armor.
Next Saturday night Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto engage in another Mexico vs Puerto Rico boxing battle that promises to bring fireworks to the Garden. This is their second meeting in their careers the first one ending via 11 round TKO for Margarito that may have been tainted after it was discovered before his next bout vs Sugar Shane Mosley that The Tijuana Tornado was ready to enter the ring using hand wraps that had an illegal substance that later was found to be plaster of paris. Many boxers have come out saying that he must’ve used them too in their fight with Margarito, and that’s why he beat them so badly. Cotto was the first to come out publicly and admit that he believes that Antonio Margarito used illegal hand wraps to give him the beating he received that summer night in Las Vegas.
Antonio Margarito, the famed boxer who was caught on the verge of using plaster of paris in his hand wraps vs Sugar Shane Mosley, and who’s career has been tainted because of this, has been finally approved to fight Miguel Cotto in Madison Square Garden next March 3. The fighter wasn’t given a licensed to fight because of an injury suffered at the hands of Pound for Pound King Manny Pacquiao to his eye. He was appointed to a NYCAC Doctor so he would give the final approval. Earlier today, there was a hearing where Margarito was now given a green light to fight the former welterweight champion.
